PUPPY TRAINING~ £60/HOUR

When you invest in a new puppy, it can often be a very stressful experience and not the ideal one usually has in their head of a sweet, cuddly new family member.
In reality, they will often bite with their pine-needle sharp teeth, will pee and poop everywhere, will howl if left unattended, and can often get into lots of mischief that we, as humans, often find undesirable, e.g. chewing, stealing items, not listening, not settling.
So, what do we do to resolve all of these issues?
New puppy? build a solid foundation to build on into their future

Working with your puppy
Puppies are very easily distracted, as the world is a new and exciting place to explore, and for some puppies, it can even prove to be very scary. Things that humans often take for granted in life are often overwhelming for an anxious puppy, such as noise from microwaves, mobile phones, hoovers, televisions, washing machines, and once outdoors, other things an be even scarier, such as traffic, people, wheelie bins, other dogs, for example.
In a group environment, distractions can often impact on a pup's ability to concentrate and learn; excitable youngsters will want to get involved with saying 'Hello' to other dogs and/or people, whilst for than anxious youngster, it can often be rather frightening as they are unable to 'escape' from all the 'monsters', which in the long run may well do more harm than good.
By working with you on a 1-2-1 basis in the comfort of your own home, you have my full attention whilst you and your puppy can relax and learn.
Covering all of the important issues for puppies such as bite control, crate training (if needed), diet/feeding, teaching your puppy to 'Cope Alone' to avoid any possible separation anxiety, toilet training, and generally learning to understand how they learn and communicate so that you can build a strong bond with one another, built on mutual trust.
Including the usual recall training, loose lead walking, retrieve, etc. and moving outdoors to work in real-life situations to help your pup cope.
living calmly & successfully with your puppy

APPROPRIATE Interactions with other dogs
Typically, we take our puppies away from their mother and siblings at around 8 weeks of age, which means that our pups often miss out on the important lessons they would usually learn if they remained with their 'pack'.
'Socialising' does not simply mean allowing them to romp with other puppies; they already know how to behave around other pups as they've just left their litter. They will actually learn their best lessons regarding 'good manners' in approaching and interacting with other dogs from calm, mature dogs ~ much as we humans, as children, will learn from our parents, grandparents, family members, and school teachers as we grow.
To ensure this is achieved in a safe, positive and constructive way, your puppy will learn to gain these important lessons with the help of my own dogs, who are experienced and will cause no harm.
Once training is completed, you can then join my private group of clients, who all understand Calming Signals and have undergone the same training, so you can continue to socialise your pup safely and successfully.
