I first met Joy when I asked her for help in training recalls with my 2 boys, Tiger & Puffin, so they could have the freedom to run off lead. They have now great recalls and enjoy themselves running in the fields and woods together.
She also identified specific attention-seeking behaviour in Puffin, a Staffy x Collie with typical Border Collie traits, particularly with regard to his ‘paw dance’ with which he’s had me at the vet's on more than one occasion, even though I now know his paw is fine ! She helped me to channel his energies in more productive ways than his ‘paw dance’ and excessive barking for attention.
We’ve since become close friends over the years, and our dogs are also the best of friends and enjoy playing together, particularly Puffin & her boy Merlin; they’re an unstoppable force when together! Thanks to her patience and knowledge, I have learned so much about my boys’ behaviour and body language, and there is no-one else to whom I would entrust their care to than Joy.
